Ron James Dittrich, 43, Medford, died Thursday, Oct. 7 at his home. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, Oct. 20 at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Medford, with Pastor Brian Wipf officiating.


Ron Dittrich was born on December 15, 1966 in Medford to the late Jack Lee and Joan Arlene (Accola) Dittrich.

He attended Medford Elementary School and was a 1984 graduate of Medford High School. He worked with his father from 1984 until 1999 on the Dittrich Mink Ranch. He then was employed by Weather Shield Mfg. and most recently was co-owner of a mink ranch in Medford.


He enjoyed walking with his dogs, fishing, hunting, reading and spending time with family and friends.


Survivors include two sisters, Laura (Gary) Ebensperger of Balsam Lake and Karen (Rik) Obinger of Eden Prairie, Minn.; three nieces and two nephews, Elizabeth, Katherine, Anna and Daniel Ebensperger, and Ben Obinger; two aunts, Janice (Tom) Weyneth of Wausau, and Fay McNeely of Stratford; cousins; and many friends.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 12 p.m. until the time of the service.


Dallmann-Kniewel Funeral Homes of Medford and Rib Lake assisted the family with arrangements.
