Surnames: Grygleski, Holzl, Lemke, Marks, Meister, Paulus, Shirley, Wilke, Wudi, Zeman, Zielke ----Source: The Star News (Medford, Taylor Co., WI), Thursday, April 30, 2009, Online Edition ----Holzl, Mary Jeanette (Zeman) (May 29, 1928 - April 23, 2009) Mary Jeanette Holzl, 80, Rib Lake, died Thursday, April 23 at Golden LivingCenter in Rib Lake. Funeral services were held Saturday, April 25 at Dallmann-Kniewel Funeral Home in Rib Lake, with Rev. Nate Wilke officiating. Interment was at St. Ann's Cemetery in the Town of Greenwood. Her grandchildren served as pallbearers. The former Mary Zeman was born May 29, 1928 in Phillips to the late James and Elsie (Zielke) Zeman. She attended Phillips Grade School and was a 1946 graduate of Phillips High School. On September 24, 1949 at the Lutheran Parsonage in Prentice, she married Andrew Joseph Holzl, who preceded her in death in October 1994. They made their home in Phillips, then purchased the family homestead in the Town of Greenwood in 1954 which they operated until 1988 when they sold it to their son. She was a Lutheran by faith, and enjoyed crocheting, jigsaw and crossword puzzles, and in her younger years enjoyed gardening. Survivors include three sons, Kenneth of Medford and Randy and Kevin (Kelly), both of Rib Lake; two daughters, Pat (Wayne) Wudi of Elmhurst, Ill., and Lori (Marty) Lemke of Tomahawk; two brothers, James of Milwaukee and Norman (Sharon) of Prentice and Texas; five sisters, Gae (Howard) Meister, Gloria (Rev. Eugene) Paulus and Maryln (Al) Shirley, all of California, Lorraine Marks of Wauwatosa and Dorothy Grygleski of Fond du Lac; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward and Alan; and two brothers-in-law, Donald Marks and Richard Grygleski. Dallmann-Kniewel Funeral Homes of Medford and Rib Lake assisted the family with arrangements. |
