Elizabeth "Betty" May Wicker, 79, Clintonville, died Saturday, April 10 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday, April 13 at St. Rose Catholic Church in Clintonville, with Father John "Jack" Mullarkey officiating. Burial took place Wednesday, April 14 at St. George Catholic Cemetery in Kenosha.

The former Elizabeth Andreoli was born May 14, 1930 in Kenosha to the late Frank and Divina (Fortino) Andreoli.

She earned a teaching degree at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.

On July 11, 1953 at Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Kenosha, she married Patrick D. Wicker, who survives.

She began teaching in Medford, then went to Sparta and then to Clintonville in 1967. She was a physical education teacher at Clintonville High School, retiring in 1993 after 39 years. She volunteered at school events and was the CHS cheerleader advisor and coached girls track and volleyball.

She was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church where she was active with the PCCW and many other activities. She also served as alderperson for the City of Clintonville. She enjoyed their cabin on Pine Lake near Hiles, reading, knitting, traveling, gardening, the outdoors and spending time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, survivors include three children, Diane (husband Greg Christenson) Wicker of Woodbury, Minn., David (Mary) of Grant, Minn., and Lisa (Shane) Waterman of Cottage Grove, Minn.; two sisters, Jean (Rodney) Smith of Carmel, Ind., and Rosalyn (Edward) Deardorf of Kenosha; five brothers, Robert of Rockton, Ill., Donald (Margaret), Roger (Sharon) and Albert (Linda), all of Kenosha, and Frank (Justine) of Dearborn, Mich.; six grandchildren, Brianne and Jenna Christenson, Derek and Devin Wicker, and Nathan and Justin Waterman; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Salvatore "Sam;" and a sister-in-law, Doris Andreoli.
