Surnames: Kauer, Long, Klemann, Biesik, Bucheger, Bonde, Fuchs, Schlosser, Froelich, Nezval ----Source: Central Wisconsin News (city unknown) 25 Aug. 1999 ----Kauer, James Allen Sr. (12 May 1942 – 20 Aug. 1999) James Allen "Slim" Kauer Sr., 57, of Rib Lake, died Friday, August 20, at his home under the care of Hope Hospice. Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 24, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Rib Lake with Rev. John Long officiating. Burial took place in Lakeview Cemetery in Rib Lake with military honors conducted by the Spirit American Legion Post 452. Pallbearers were Anton and Jack Kauer, Karl and Sue Ann Klemann, Charles A. Biesik, and Roy Bucheger. Visitation and a Prayer service were held at Dallmann-Kniewel Funeral Home in Rib Lake. James A. Kauer was born May 12, 1942, in Medford to Peter and Catherine (Bonde) Kauer. He attended Rib Lake schools and then served in the US Army during the Korean War. On October 25, 1975, he married Elizabeth Biesik at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Wautoma. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and of the Spirit American Legion. Survivors include his parents; his wife, Elizabeth "Betty" of Rib Lake; three sons, James Jr. (fiancee Tanya Fuchs), Brad and Tony Kauer, all of Rib Lake; two brothers, Bernard (Pearl) and Ronald (Mary) Kauer, both of Rib Lake; two sisters, Mary Ann (Raymond) Schlosser of Rib Lake and Colette (David) Froelich of Rhinelander; his godmother, Isabelle Nezval of Rib Lake; and other relatives. He was preceded in death by a special uncle, Anton Kauer.
