MEDFORD -- Robert "Bob" A. Sackmann, 92, of Medford was pronounced dead Friday, April 10, 2009, on the property of his son in the town of Browning.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 14, at United Church of Christ, Medford. Burial was in Medford Evergreen Cemetery II.

Bob was born July 11, 1916, in the town of Deer Creek to John and Elizabeth (Massoth) Sackmann. He was united in marriage June 22, 1949, to Lillian Buehler at Community Evangelical Lutheran Church, Medford.

He farmed on the Sackmann homestead in the town of Deer Creek until retiring in 1979. While farming, he also worked as a brick and block layer as well as an insurance adjuster for Little Black Insurance.

He is survived by his wife, Lillian Sackmann, a resident at Golden LivingCenter, Abbotsford; his children, Gary (Susan) Sackmann of Brookings, S.D., Glen (Barbara) Sackmann of Scandia, Minn., Nancy (James) Kreklau of Stetsonville, Ray (Carol) Sackmann of Medford, Jess (Susan) Sackmann of Medford and Peggy (Peter) Malovrh of Princeton, Mo.; 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He is further survived by brothers and sisters, Caroline Viel of Milwaukee, Nora Hornak of Big Bend, Sister Mary Angela Sackmann of Calcert City, Ky., and Herbert (Jane) Sackmann of Muskego.
