----Wall, Vera H. (17 Apr. 1900 – 2 Jan. 1989)

MEDFORD – Vera H. Wall, 88, Medford, died at 12:01 p.m. Monday at Memorial Hospital of Taylor County, Medford, where she had been admitted earlier in the day. A memorial mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford. The Rev. Dennis Muelemans will officiate. Cremains will be interred in Medford Catholic Cemetery.

Honorary pallbearers are William Thomas, Charles Heglund, Jim Amo, George Molitor, George Thums, and Harry Curran.

There are no visitations.

She was born April 17, 1900, in Avoca, to John J. and Cora Belle Hinkel. She graduated from Medford High School. She was a graduate of the first class of the Taylor County Normal School in 1918 and the Stevens Point Normal School in 1919.

She was married to Irving F. Wall Nov. 12, 1919, in Highland. He died May 1, 1966.

She taught school in Lublin for one year. She worked as a clerk at the Wicker Grocery Store in Medford for 18 years. During World War II, she worked for the Taylor County Rationing Board. In 1956, they moved to Wausau where she worked as a bookkeeper for Rosemurgy Ford until 1962 when they returned to Medford. For the past 22 years, she has resided with her daughter, Donna.

She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and a charter member of the Ladies Aid of Holy Rosary. She was a member of Landua-Jensen American Legion Auxiliary of Medford.

She is survived by one son, Floyd of Shakopee, Minn.; two daughters, Mrs. Stephen J. (Jean) Latuso of Glen Head, Long Island, N.Y., and Mrs. Don (Donna) Underwood of Medford; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
