----Westberg, Florence Mae (Nelson) (October 19 1937 - March 28, 2009)

Florence Mae Westberg, 90, Rib Lake, died Saturday, March 28 at Golden LivingCenter in Rib Lake. Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 31 at Ogema Baptist Church in Ogema, with Pastor Dave Elleman officiating. Interment was at Garden of Memories in the Town of Hill.

Pallbearers were Terry Westberg, Scott Saari, James Carlson, Jonathon Carlson, Jon Westberg and Steve Saari.

The former Florence Nelson was born September 16, 1918 in the Town of Hill to the late Nels and Mamie (Lindgren) Nelson. She attended Ring Graded School and Prentice High School, and worked on the family farm.

On October 19, 1937 in Medford, she was married by the Justice of the Peace to Kermit Lars Erick Westberg, who survives. They lived in various areas around Ogema. She assisted with cooking at logging camps in Presque Isle and later at Forest Center, Minn., before moving back to the Ogema area in 1953, where they have lived since.

She was a member of Ogema Baptist Church, past member of Central Wisconsin Polka Club, Ogema Lions Club and former project leader for the Hillbillies 4-H. She enjoyed playing bingo, gardening, flowers, baking, spending time outdoors, going to the casino, dancing, especially polkas, visiting with family and friends, ginseng hunting and her Boston Terriers.

In addition to her husband, survivors include two sons and three daughters-in-law, Stanley (Janet) of Brantwood, Gary (Karen) of Ogema and Carol Westberg-Salzman of Wausau; two daughters and sons-in-law, Betty (John "Bill") Saari of Prentice and Marcia (Lonnie) Carlson of Ogema; a sister, Shirley "Arlene" Loomis of Eau Claire; 17 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Westberg on October 12, 1989; six brothers, Harold, LeRoy, Kermit, Donald "Bobby," Loyal and Gerald; and three sisters, Violet Ostling, Hazel Jorgensen and Geraldine Kjelstad.

In her honor, memorial contributions may be made to Ogema Baptist Church. Dallmann-Kniewel Funeral Homes of Medford and Rib Lake assisted the family with arrangements.
