Evelyn Mary Seidel, 99, Medford, died Thursday, March 26 at Memorial Nursing Home in Medford.

A Mass of Christian burial was held Wednesday, April 1 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Rib Lake, with Father Otto Bucher officiating. Interment was at Lakeview Cemetery in Rib Lake. Pallbearers were Steve Fechtner, Clint Sackman, Craig Seidel, Derek Seidel, Craig Davidson, Austyn Kovacs, William Peterson Jr. and Ridge Sackman.

The former Evelyn Bales was born December 28, 1909 in West Bend to the late John and Anna (Mathie) Bales. She attended Holy Angels Grade School in West Bend.

On June 30, 1945 at the Church of St. Nicholas in Milwaukee, she married Anton "Cap" Seidel, who preceded her in death. She was employed at the Amity Company in West Bend for 15 years as an assembler, Milwaukee Gas Company for five years, and was later employed at Gem Products in Rib Lake as a sole sewer for over 12 years and eventually moved to Rib Lake.

She was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Christian Mothers group and Lehman-Clendenning American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed music, dancing, outside activities, especially mowing her lawn, and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her children, James (Faith) of West Bend, Joann (William) Peterson Sr. of Westboro and Bonnie (Steve) Fechtner of Madison; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Adela (Carl) Hofschulte.

Dallmann-Kniewel Funeral Homes of Medford and Rib Lake assisted the family with arrangements.
