Dorothy Anne Eckert, 89, Goodrich, died Saturday, April 3 at her home. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 30 at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Athens, with Rev. Charles Hiebl officiating.

Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. to the time of the service.

The former Dorothy Gresl was born June 8, 1920 in Greenville to the late Frank and Anna (Lemberger) Gresl.

She attended grade school in the Athens area and obtained her GED in 1974. She worked in Evanston, Ill., as a mother's helper.

On April 9, 1940 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, she married Rudolph Eckert, who preceded her in death. She sold Beeline Fashions and Avon Products.

She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, the Merry Mixers homemakers club, was a Farmer's Union youth group leader and served on the Taylor County Commission on Aging. She enjoyed oil painting and visiting art exhibits, reading, sewing, knitting, crocheting, quilting, flower and vegetable gardening, raising chickens and other aspects of country life.

Survivors include seven children, Ray (Gerry) of Medford, Delores Baker of Burlington, Marianne Eaton-Lewis of Kingman, Ariz., Tony (Cheryl) and Ann Eckert, both of Goodrich, and Geralyn (Tom) Pulse and Laurie (Todd) Trapp, both of Eau Claire; 21 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, James and Donald; a granddaughter, Amy Baker; a brother, Robert; and four sisters, Marie Johnas, Bernice Endres, Betty Lou Gresl and Lillian Gresl.
