(12 Feb. 1913 – 15 Mar. 2009) MEDFORD -- Alvina L. Margetta, 96, died Sunday, March 15, 2009, at the Pepin Manor Nursing Home. She is a former town of Goodrich resident, Taylor County. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hemer Funeral Home, Medford. Burial will be in Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery, Medford. Visitation will be Wednesday at the funeral home from 11:30 a.m. until time of services. Alvina was born Feb. 12, 1913, at the family farm in the town of Goodrich to Louis and Anna (Herold) Shadrick. She was united in marriage on June 29, 1940, to Anthony "Tony" V. Margetta. He preceded her in death Sept. 29, 2005. After their marriage, Alvina and Tony resided in Milwaukee for a period of time, and returned in 1947 to her parents' farm in the town of Goodrich. She is survived by her daughter, Karen (Ken) Wald of Buffalo City; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and two stepgreat-grandchildren; and two brothers, Roy Shadrick of Colby and Emil Shadrick of Chicago.
