Patricia R. Thorpe, 86, Medford, died Tuesday, June 15 at the Memorial Health Center in Medford.

Funeral services were held Friday, June 18 at the Nash-Jackan Funeral Home in Ladysmith. Deacon Doug Sorenson officiated. Burial was in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Hawkins.


She was born January 6, 1924 in Ladysmith to the late Michael and Marie Mandy. She lived in many places, but her home was in Hawkins. She married Warren Thorpe in Iowa in 1968 and he preceded her in death in 2000.


She always had projects: fixing up old houses, gardening, selling vegetables at farmer's markets, raising chickens and calves. She also loved and raised Boston Terriers. She enjoyed sewing, making quilts and doing jigsaw puzzles. She owned and operated the Way To Go Bar in Hawkins and farmed with Warren Thorpe. She also worked in many different factories through out her life. She was also a member of the Catholic Church.


Survivors include two sons, David Copija of Hortonville and Stanley (Laurie) Copija of Hawkins; one stepson, Elmer Thorpe; three daughters, Rosalie (Dick) Winchel of Sheldon, Bonnie Lumley of Gilman and Beckey (Jim) Haynes of Medford; four stepdaughters: Ginny Paulson, Barb Mabie, LuAnn Thorpe and Fran Thorpe; one sister, Dorothy of Florida, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.


In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sons, Richard "Mouse" Copija, Gary "Randy" Lofgren and Darrell "Deano" Copija.
