Audrey Mae Schwartz, 86, Rib Lake, died Friday, May 14 at Golden LivingCenter in Rib Lake. No funeral services will be held.


The former Audrey Bastian was born July 5, 1923 in West Bend to the late Harry and Bertha (Boyden) Bastian.

The family lived in Milwaukee and she attended St. Boniface Graded School and was a 1941 graduate of Mesmer High School. She served in the United States Navy as a Specialist X during World War II.


In 1947 she married Blake Bokath, who preceded her in death on September 7, 1965. On November 18, 1967 at Benediction Lutheran Church in Milwaukee, she married Phillip Schwartz, who survives. They lived in Milwaukee until moving to Rib Lake in 1970. She worked at Badger Meter Co. in Milwaukee as a key punch operator for six years, at Hurd Millwork as a key punch operator for six years, and also at Gem Products.


She was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church and past member of Lehman-Clendenning American Legion Post No. 274 of Rib Lake. She enjoyed fishing, camping and feeding the birds.


In addition to her husband, survivors include four grandchildren, David Bokath of Colorado, Doug Jari, Todd Jari and Mande Pearson; three step-children, Phillip Schwartz of Broken Arrow, Okla., Susan Harper of Fond du Lac, and William (Eileen) Schwartz of Appleton; four step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.


In addition to her parents and first husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Bokath; and a daughter, Darlene Meade.

Dallmann-Kniewel Funeral Homes of Medford and Rib Lake assisted the family with arrangements.
