Hattie C. Reimann, 88, Medford, died Tuesday, Feb. 9 at Memorial Nursing Home in Medford, where she had resided the past 5-1/2 weeks, surrounded by her family and under hospice care.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 13 at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Gilman, with Father Gerard Willger and Con-Celebrant Father John Long officiating. Burial was at Meadowbrook Catholic Cemetery in Gilman. Pallbearers were Rick Podolak, Brian Goebel, Brian Webster, and Bob, Jared and Allyn Reimann.
The former Hattie Chaplinski was born October 18, 1921 in the Town of Aurora, to the late George and Anna (Lepieza) Chaplinski. She attended Gilman area schools.
On November 20, 1943 in Gilman, she married John D. Podolak, and they later divorced.
On November 3, 1973 in Minnesota, she married Ray A. Reimann, who survives. She moved to the Chicago, Ill., area after school and worked at a candy factory and did house care, then moved back to the Medford area where she worked at Weather Shield in Medford for 18 years, then at Tombstone Pizza in Medford.
She was a member of Chelsea Catholic Church until it closed, Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Whittlesey and past member of St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. She enjoyed nature, gardening, flowers, baking, cooking, canning, knitting, crocheting, and her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, survivors include three children, John "Butch" (Mary) Podolak of Gilman and twins, Michael (Kay) Podolak of Gilman and Marge (Chet) Goebel Jr. of Stanley; two sisters, twin sister Victoria "Vicky" Duffy of Gilman and Henrietta "Honeybunch" Jarmoluk of Elkhorn; a daughter-in-law, Gail (Ed) Robaczewski of Gilman; 18 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Podolak on July 8, 2003; four brothers, Marlin, Andrew, Mike and Louie; two sisters, Mary Haller and Dorothy Schley; and two siblings in infancy.
