James H. Rouiller, 70, Medford, died Tuesday, April 27 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minn., where he had been a patient the past three weeks.

A memorial service will be held Friday, April 30 at 11 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford, with Deacon Joe Stefancin officiating.


Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.


James Rouiller was born July 13, 1939 in Medford to the late Harold Elmer and Louise Margaret (Baumgartner) Rouiller.

He attended Mathey Elementary School in the Town of Medford and was a 1957 graduate of Medford High School.


He married Susan Hessefort and they later divorced.

He worked for the Soo Line Railroad as a depot agent, then for Equifax Company as an insurance investigator until his retirement. During retirement he drove for Abby Vans. He also served as the Town of Medford tax assessor.


He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and was active in area softball teams and leagues. He enjoyed camping, fishing and softball.


Survivors include three sons, Jeffrey and twins, Todd and Brian (Julie), all of Medford; two brothers, Donald of Medford and Kenneth of Madison; a sister, Kathleen (Pat) Makovec of Clear Lake, Minn.; and two grandsons, Kyle and Logan Rouiller of Medford.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Lori Ann Rouiller in 1990.
