Edward "Ed" J. Rindt, 90, Stetsonville, died Saturday, Oct. 9 at Golden LivingCenter in Rib Lake, where he had resided the past 2-1/2 months.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 12 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Stetsonville, with Father Frederick Brost officiating. Burial was at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Stetsonville, with full military honors. Pallbearers were Steve, Jim and Tom Rindt, John and Joe Bach and Joe Dowden.

Edward Rindt was born July 10, 1920 in Stetsonville to the late Siegfried and Mary P. (Erben) Rindt. He attended Stetsonville Elementary School. He worked at Mundt Car Dealership in Stetsonville, then entered the United States Army and was stationed in the Lucien Islands during World War II.

On June 10, 1955 in Overland, Mo., he married Lorraine C. Apfelbeck, who preceded him in death on February 2, 1994. He worked at Mundt Car Dealership in Stetsonville as a mechanic for 25 years, then at Handel Motors in Stetsonville as a mechanic. In 1962 they owned and operated Ed's Standard in Stetsonville, now known as Ed's Service and Auto Body, and also owned and operated school buses for Stetsonville, then the Medford Area School District from 1960 to 1973.

He was a lifetime member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Disabled American Veterans. He was also a charter member of Boxrucker-Berry American Legion Post No. 519 of Stetsonville for the past 65 years, Klossner-Dietzler VFW No. 5729 of Medford, and Catholic Order of Foresters.

He ran stock cars in his younger years and enjoyed watching baseball.

Survivors include a daughter, Arlene (Randy) Von Loh of Medford; a son, Edward "Butch" of Stetsonville; a sister, Frances Bach of Medford; two grandchildren, Courtney and Kyle Von Loh, both of Medford; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Ann in infancy, and Elizabeth, and three brothers, Lawrence, Alois and Joseph.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to his family to be designated at a later date.

Hemer Funeral Home of Medford assisted the family with arrangements.
