Kevin "Whitey" L. Paulson, 58, Stetsonville, died Tuesday, Nov. 23 at Memorial Health Center in Medford, where he had been a patient the past six days.

A memorial service will be held sometime in August of 2011. Interment of his cremated remains will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery in the Town of Little Black.


Kevin Paulson was born on September 20, 1952 in Medford to the late Raymond S. and Anna A. (White) Paulson. He attended Stetsonville elementary schools, graduated from Medford High School in 1970 and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.


On August 22, 1980 in Stetsonville, he married Christine "Tina" R. Nystrum, and they later divorced.

He worked road construction, at Liberty Homes in Dorchester and on the Ed Brecke mink ranch.

In July of 2007 he moved to California and returned to the area in July of 2010.


He enjoyed hunting, playing cards and the Green Bay Packers.


Survivors include two daughters, Amber Moriarty of Medford and Katie (Seth) Gebauer of Chippewa Falls; a son, Samuel (Johani) of San Marcos, Calif.; seven sisters, Leanne Peterson of Medford, Margret Kyes and Jane Paulson, both of Carlsbad, Calif., Joan McElligott of Rochester, N.Y., Judy Peck of Oceanside, Calif., and Kristen (Ronald) Zuleger and Cindy Paulson, both of Stetsonville; two brothers, Sam (Joyce) of Fallon, Nev., and Peter of Stetsonville; and four grandchildren, Jackson Moriarty, Julian and Brody Paulson and Conrad Gebauer.

Hemer Funeral Service of Medford assisted the family with arrangements.
