---- Lex, Phyllis Jean (Resch) (January 24, 1945 - July 20, 2010)

Phyllis Jean Lex, age 65, of Altoona, passed away peacefully on Tuesday at home, surrounded by her family.


Phyllis was born January 24, 1945 in Mattoon, Wis., daughter of Charles and Margaret (Keough) Resch.

She married Gary Lex on May 8, 1965. She loved spending time reading Catholic spiritual devotionals and reciting the daily rosary, spending time with her grandchildren, walking and tending to her beautiful flowers. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Altoona for 10 years. She was a loving and understanding wife, mother and grandmother.


Phyllis is survived by her husband, Gary; sons, Troy (Sheila) Lex of Medford, Terry (Connie Gleason) Lex of Mosinee and Andrew (Marcie Kallenbach) Lex of Altoona; a daughter, Kim (Sam) Hraby of Larkspur, Colo.; four grandchildren, Brianna Lex, Connor Hraby, Ian Hraby and Bret Lex; brothers, Jerome (Marion) Resch of Birnamwood, Floyd (Gloria) Resch of Birnamwood, Dave Resch of Birnamwood; sisters, Joanne Ricinski of Weston and Mary Ellen Mackawgy of Naples, Fla.; along with other relatives and friends.


She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother-in-law, Jim Rucinski; and sister-in-law,

Pricilla Resch.


A funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be at noon on Friday, July 30, 2010 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Altoona, with father Joseph Redfern officiating. A private family burial will be on Saturday in Birnamwood.


Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass at the church.


The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at St. Joseph's Hospice for their gracious and compassionate care.
