Reinhart "Reiny" H. Klingbeil, 86, Medford, died Monday, Aug. 23 at his home.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Aug. 26 at 1 p.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford, with Father Gerard Willger, Father Dennis Meulemans and Deacon Joseph Stefancin officiating.

Burial will be at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery in Medford with full military honors performed by the Medford Area Military Honors Team. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Nick Raedel, Alex and Eric Ertl, and Pete, Sam and Nate Klingbeil.

Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.

Reinhart Klingbeil was born September 24, 1923 in Milladore, Wood County, to the late Reinhardt A. and Martha M. (Pavlik) Klingbeil. He was a 1941 graduate of Medford High School. After high school, he worked at the family business, Klingbeil Lumber, in Medford until he joined the United States Air Force. He served from 1943 to 1946 in the 35th Photo Squadron in the South Pacific where he was one of the last surviving members.

On June 19, 1946 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, he married Audrey Wesle, who preceded him in death on December 16, 2008. After the military, he owned Klingbeil Lumber with his brother Ray until his retirement in 1985.

He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus No. 1744 Medford Council, Klossner-Dietzler VFW Post No. 5729 of Medford, Landau-Jensen American Legion Post No. 147 of Medford, and he was a founding member of Black River Industries of Medford. He enjoyed restoring player pianos and pump organs, handcrafting folk instruments, reading, woodworking and and spending time with his family.

Survivors include three daughters, Mary (John) Raedel of Eau Claire, Nancy (Pat) Perini of Hilliard, Ohio, and Diane (Jim) Ertl of Rosemount, Minn.; four sons, Bill (Margie), Mike (Sandra), Daniel and Tim (Tracy), all of Medford; a brother, Ray (Marguerite) of Medford; a sister, Joyce (Bill) Baker of Medford; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Steven in August 2008; and his twin brother, Bernhardt, and brother Jack.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Black River Industries.
