Dorothy "Dot" Heier, 82, Medford, was pronounced dead Sunday, June 27 at her home.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 1 at 3 p.m. at Hemer Funeral Home in Medford, with Father Gerard Willger officiating. Inurnment will take place at Medford Evergreen Cemetery II at a later date.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 2 p.m. until the time of the service.

The former Dorothy Kochevar was born February 3, 1928 in Ladysmith to the late Joseph and Anna (Kochevar) Kochevar. She attended Sheldon elementary schools and was a graduate of Ladysmith High School.

On August 1, 1949 in Ladysmith, she married Lavern B. Wood, who preceded her in death on February 4, 1970. They farmed in the Town of Pershing until 1962, then owned and operated Woody's Curve Inn in the Town of Little Black until 1972. She then tended bar at Harold's Bar in Medford and then worked at Tombstone Pizza in Medford for 11 years until her retirement.

On May 2, 1992 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford, she married Richard "Gene" Heier, who survives.

She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and Medford VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed fishing, golfing, camping and traveling.

In addition to her second husband Richard "Gene," survivors include four children, Bernie (Sharon) Wood of Mosinee, Judy (Tom) Sirokman of Denver, Colo., Peggy (Mike) Ryskoski of North Fond du Lac and Kelly Wood of Chippewa Falls; a step-son, Richard (Cherie) Heier of Cleveland, Ohio; a step-son-in-law, Brian Moberg of Medford; eight grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and first husband, she was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Cheryl Ann Moberg in 1992; three brothers; and three sisters.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial be given in her name to the Alzheimer's Association of Washington, D.C.
