Delmar "Del" J. Goerg, 88, Medford, died Friday, June 18 at the Memorial Nursing and Rehab Center in Medford, where he had resided for the past 4 months.

A memorial service was held Monday, June 21 at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford with Father Aaron Kalmon. Full military honors were performed by the Medford Military Honors Team. Cremainal Inurnment took place in Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery.


Delmar Goerg was born June 19, 1921 in Medford to the late John and Kunda (Heier) Goerg.

He attended Holy Rosary Catholic Grade School and was a 1939 Graduate of Medford High School.


His marriage to Dolores M. Hoffman, who survives, took place October 7, 1950 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medford. He served in the Army Air Force for four years in WWII while being stationed in Tinian Island, South Pacific. After service he returned to Medford and was employed by Neuendorf Trucking Company until his retirement in 1982. He enjoyed traveling, hunting, music and spending time with his family. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, the Medford Knights of Columbus No. 2301 and the Foresters of Stetsonville.


In addition to his wife, survivors include four children, Mary (Russel) Sanderson of Colorado Springs, Colo., John (Marge) of Forest Lake, Minn., David (Susan) Goerg of Little Canada, Minn. and Patricia (Ed) Dobaszinski of Maple Grove, Minn.; three grandchildren, three grandchildren, Sheena and Sierra Goerg of Little Canada and Nicholas Dobaszinski of Maple Grove; two brothers, Lawrence and Herbert (Rita), both of Medford, and a sister, Luicella Goerg of Milwaukee.


In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be made in Del’s name to Holy Rosary Catholic Church or School.
