Albert Henry Erdman, 90, Town of Ogema, died Wednesday, May 26 at his home.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 1 at First Lutheran Church in Ogema, with Rev. Bob Giese officiating. Interment was at Leavitt Creek Cemetery in the Town of Hill. Pallbearers were Michael Werner, Brian Ingersoll, Jamie Harp, Chris Huther, Eugene Erdman, Donald Nelson and Gary Nelson.

Albert Erdman was born July 12, 1919 in Ogema on the family homestead to Adolph Ludwig and Alvina (Tesch) Erdman, and attended Centerville Graded School.

He worked in a Civilian Conservation Corps camp and later was employed at Northern Hardware and Veneer in Butternut from 1940 to 1942. He served in the United States Army from 1942 until 1945 during World War II.

On August 29, 1950 in Washington, Ind., he married Aileen Elsie Pitkanen, who survives. He worked at Crane Naval Depot in Washington, then they moved back to Ogema where they owned and operated a dairy farm for over 25 years. He also worked in the woods and later was employed at Omark for three years.

He was a member of Southern Price County VFW Post No. 8491. He enjoyed hunting, trapping and being outdoors.

In addition to his wife, survivors include six children, Darrell (Joann) of Ft. Myers, Fla., Duane of Tomahawk, Sandra (Randy) Adams, Sharon Erdman and Sheila Erdman and Michael Werner, all of Medford, and Dale (Lori) of Rib Lake; three sisters, Ann Schancer of Kennan, Emma Johns of Merrill and Alice Campbell of Bloomfield, Ind.; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Verner (Mary Jane); two sisters, Erna (Oscar) Nelson and Elsie (Ronald) Toon; and three brothers-in-law, Clem Schancer, Charles Johns and Charles Campbell.

Memorial contributions in his honor may be given to Flambeau Hospice.

Dallmann-Kniewel Funeral Homes of Medford and Rib Lake assisted the family with arrangements.
