----LaShay, David O. (28 May 1923 – 2 Mar. 2002)

MEDFORD – David O. LaShay, Sr., 78, of Medford, died March 2, 2002 at Memorial Nursing Home in Medford.

Funeral services will be 7 p.m. Tuesday at Hemer Funeral Home in Medford. Rev. Irv Case will officiate.

Burial services will take place in Fond du Lac.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Hemer Funeral Home in Medford.

David was born May 28, 1923 in Oconto Falls, to Oren and Mary (nee Wilson) LaShay. He attended Fond du Lac schools.

On Nov. 25, 1942 in Fond du Lac to Blossom M. Penman. [married]

David served overseas with the U.S. Army during WWII. After discharge he was employed by Mercury Marine, in Fond du Lac, and later moved to Menasha where he worked at various jobs in the Fox River Valley. In 1964, he moved to Medford where he worked for Streckert Manufacturing, Conseco, and later Weather Shield. He was employed by Copps IGA, in Medford until 1995. He enjoyed hunting and electronics.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church, in Medford and the Disabled American Veterans.

David is survived by his wife; two daughters, Rose Marie (Donald) Phillips of Green Bay and Marge (Terry) Scott, of Baraboo; three sons, David O. (Shirley) LaShay of Hancock and Thomas (Candace Fischer) LaShay of Medford; a son-in-law, Calvin Steen of Medford; and a brother Harold (Charmaine) LaShay of Neshkoro. He is further survived by 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
