PARK FALLS -- Marie A. Weber, 98, of Park Falls, died Thursday, January 25, 2007 at Flambeau Hospital in Park Falls, surrounded by her family. She was born in Medford on December 31, 1908, the fourth of eight children born to Joseph C. and Theresia (Niggemann) Kress. She attended school at Holy Rosary School in Medford, the Medford High School, and the Taylor County Teachers College. She also received a degree from the State Teachers College in Stevens Point. She taught in rural schools for six years. On June 12, 1934 she married Felix A. Weber. They made their home in Marshfield for nine years and in 1943 moved to Park Falls. Marie was a member of the Christian Women and the Catholic Daughters of America. Her entire life was devoted to the love and care of her family and being a second mother to her grandchildren. Her home was a meeting place for her grandchildren and friends. Marie was quiet and reserved, gracious and welcoming, a tireless worker with strong character and dignity, and had an unyielding faith which served her well to the last day.

She is survived by two sons, Robert (Marilyn) Weber of Park Falls and David (Wanda) Weber of Germantown; three daughters, Marilyn (Neil) Koshak of Park Falls, Jean (John) Klas of Waterford, and Marjorie Albrecht of Marshfield; 30 grandchildren; 48 grandchildren; a brother, Francis (Irma) Kress of Monona; a daughter-in-law, Janice Weber of Minneapolis, Minn.; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Felix in 1991; her daughter Arlene Stueber; her son James Weber; her granddaughter Maria Weber; her grandson Matthew Koshak; four brothers: Joseph (Minnie) Kress, Aloysius (Agnes) Kress, Monsignor Alphonse Kress, and Norbert (Margaret) Kress; two sisters, Cecelia (John) Kauer and Sister Elizabeth Rose Kress; and her sons-in-law Skip Albrecht and Roman Stueber. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Park Falls on Tuesday Jan. 30, at 11 a.m. with Fr. Glenn Phillips officiating.

Burial will follow at Nola Cemetery in Park Falls.

A visitation will be held at the Novitzke Funeral Home in Park Falls on Monday Jan. 29, from 4 - 8 p.m. with a Parish Prayer Vigil at 7 p.m. Visitation will also be held on Tuesday at the church from 10 a.m. until the hour of the service.
