(March 30, 1930 - February 19, 2009) Marlin E. Vircks, 68, Stetsonville, died Thursday, Feb. 19 at his home, surrounded by his family and Hope Hospice. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 24 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Stetsonville, with Rev. James Babler officiating. Interment was at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery in Stetsonville. Pallbearers were Barry and Ryan Hartl, Paul Lieders, Russell Sterzinger, and Kyle, Jacob and Brandt Vircks. Marlin Vircks was born March 30, 1940 in Medford to the late Edward O. and Lena M. (Amacher) Vircks. He attended Green Acres Elementary School in the Town of Deer Creek and was a graduate of Medford High School. On August 5, 1961 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, he married Marlene A. Messmann, who survives. He owned and operated the family dairy farm until the time of his death. He also drove milk truck for Farmers Pride Cheese Factory and Marlin Kraus, drove bulk truck for Don Schueneman and cattle truck for Allen Beyer. He was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. He enjoyed tractor pulls, antique tractor shows, steam engine shows and farming. In addition to his wife, survivors include two sons, Edward of Stetsonville and Scott (Michelle) of Grain Valley, Mo.; four daughters, Kelly (Barry) Hartl, Kathy (Paul) Lieders and Karen Vircks, all of Stetsonville and Kimberly (Russsell) Sterzinger of Wisconsin Rapids; eight grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and three stepgreat-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to his family to be designated at a later date. Online condolences may be made at www.hemerfuneralservice.com.
