----Sell, Dorothy (Meschefske) (March 23, 1921 - February 5, 2009)

Dorothy A. Sell, 87, of King, passed away Thursday, Feb. 5, 2009, at the Wisconsin Veterans Home.

Dorothy was born in the Town of Little Black, Stetsonville, on March 23, 1921 to John and Frieda (Schultz) Meschefske.

She grew up in Stetsonville and graduated from high school there. Dorothy was united in marriage to Arvin H. Sell on November 8, 1941, in Stetsonville. Arvin and Dorothy were blessed with 67 years together. Dorothy was employed at the former Bergstrom Paper Company in Neenah. The Sells were longtime congregation members of Immanuel United Church of Christ in Neenah, and Dorothy was very active in church activities.

She enjoyed quilt making, sewing and other craft work. Favorite times were spent at the family cottage up north on the Flambeau River.

Dorothy is survived by her husband, Arvin, of King; her daughter, Connie Kuphal and her son, Jim (Lynda) Sell, both of Neenah; five grandsons, Aaron and Jesse Landvatter, Nathan Kuphal and Matt and Andrew Sell; two sisters, Gladys Brost of Medford and Arlene Reda of Shawano; a brother, John Meschefske of Medford.

She was preceded in death by her son, Allan; two sisters, Evelyn Fredrickson and Mabel Lekies; and three brothers, Arthur, Clyde and infant Eugene.

The funeral service was held Tuesday, Feb. 10 at Immanuel United Church of Christ, with Rev. Milton Staskal officiating. Burial was at Oak Hill Cemetery in Neenah. Memorials in Dorothy's name may be sent to Immanuel United Church of Christ, 118 Oak St., Neenah, Wis. 54956.

Dorothy's family extends their thanks to the nurses and staff at Olson Hall as well as the ThedaCare Hospice for being there to care for Dorothy when they could not.

Westgor Funeral Home of Neenah assisted the family with arrangements.
