----Couillard, Catherine (Creaser) (November 30, 1928 - February 4, 2009)

Catherine Couillard, 80, Gilman, died Wednesday, Feb. 4 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.

A memorial service was held Sunday, Feb. 8 at Zion Lutheran Church in Gilman, with Pastor Steven Haag officiating. Inurnment was at the Donald Cemetery.

The former Catherine Creaser was born November 30, 1928 in Cornell to the late John and Minerva (Goebel) Creaser. She grew up in the Donald area where she attended school. She also attended Taylor County Normal School, then taught in the Gilman and Sheldon schools.

On May 29, 1950 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sheldon, she married Willis Couillard, who survives. They lived in Waukegan, Ill., until 1977 when they moved back to the Donald area where she was a substitute teacher for Gilman schools.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and served on the election board in the Town of Pershing. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting afghans and knitting for children in the inner city.

In addition to her husband, survivors include five children, Kathy (Ron) Johnson of Columbia, Ky., Duane (Sherry) of Olympia, Wash., Craig (Sarah) of Third Lake, Ill., Jeffrey of Tenino, Wash., and Chris (Nikki) of West Allis; two brothers, Charles (Yvonne) of Cadott and Russell (Doris) of Phoenix, Ariz.; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Clark; a brother, Louis; and three sisters, Lucille Engelbretson, Doris Hammond and Jean Lucas. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Building Fund.

Plombon Funeral Service assisted the family with arrangements.
