The casketed remains of Staff Sergeant Harry Shewczyk, a World War II deceased member of the U. S. Army from Lublin will arrive here this Thursday morning from overseas for final burial. The remains will be accompanied by a uniformed U.S. Army escort from the Chicago Distribution Center of the American Graves Registration Division.

The train will be met by the honor guard of the Cecil Tormey Post No. 118 of the American Legion.

Last rites for S. Sgt. Shewczyk will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at the St. Mary’s Assumption Orthodox Greek Catholic Church, Lublin. The body will lie in state at his parents home. The Thorp American Legion Post will have charge of military rites at the parish cemetery, where interment will be made.

Requiem services will be held Thursday evening at 8 o’clock at the home in Russian and English by Rev. Stepsen Kanyan.

Harry Shewczyk son of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Shewczyk of Lublin, was a graduate of Forest Lake School. He entered the Army on March 19, 1941 and after receiving his training went overseas, serving in Africa and Italy. He served with the 10th division, 87th infantry, company B. of the U.S. Army and was killed April 14, 1945.

Staff Sergeant Harry Shewczyk was reburied Friday morning from the home of his parents and St. Mary’s Assumption Orthodox Greek Catholic Church, Lublin at 10 a.m. The Rev. Stephen Kanyon officiating in both Russian and English services. Members of the Cecil Tormey Post No. 118 of the American Legion formed the military escort and paid honor to the young veteran at his last resting place in the parish cemetery.

Harry, son of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Shewczyk, Lublin, was born in the Town of Roosevelt, Taylor Co. on Feb. 20, 1915, and was a graduate of Forest Lake School. He entered the Army on March 19, 1941 and after receiving his training went overseas, serving in Africa and Italy. Harry served with the 10th division, 78th infantry, company B of the U.S. Army and was killed on April 14, 1945.
