David Allen Dombrowski, 55, of Gilman, died Friday, Dec. 12, 2008 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

He was born on November 21, 1953 in Stanley to the late Victor and Geraldine (Swienton) Dombrowski.

Dave grew up in Gilman and attended area schools and graduated from Gilman High School.

He worked for many years in road construction for Payne and Dolan, and later for American Asphalt until his retirement.

Dave was a member of the Operator's Engineers Local 139 and the Miller Dam Lake Association. Besides his love for spending time with his grandchildren, he loved the outdoors, fishing and hunting.

He is survived by his son, David Jr. of Gilman; two daughters, Krystal and Phyllis Dombrowski, both of Gilman; two grandchildren, Zachary and Trevor Dombrowski, and one soon to be brought into this world; two brothers, Donald of Medford and Vic (Cindy) of Gilman; and one sister, Gayle (George) Halpenny of St. Paul, Minn.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2008 at St. Mary's Polish National Catholic Church in Lublin. Father Marian Talaga officiated. Burial was at Meadowbrook Cemetery in Gilman.

Gilman Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
