----Krolnik, Max Alvin (July 5, 1929 - November 27, 2008)

Max Alvin Krolnik, 79, Rib Lake, died Thursday, Nov. 27 at Golden LivingCenter in Rib Lake. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, Dec. 5 at 11 a.m. at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Rib Lake, with Father Otto Bucher officiating. Interment will full military honors conducted by Lehman-Clendenning American Legion Post No. 274 of Rib Lake, will be held at Lakeview Cemetery in Rib Lake. Pallbearers will be Carl, Chris and Jay Krolnik, Brian Kathrein, Bob Carpenter and Jim Rosenfeldt.

Visitation with be held Thursday, Dec. 4 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Dallmann-Kniewel Funeral Home in Rib Lake with a rosary at 7 p.m. followed by a parish prayer service, and at the funeral home on Friday from 9 to 10 a.m.

Max Krolnik was born July 5, 1929 in Milwaukee to the late John and Angeline (Cvikel) Krolnik. He attended Vieau Graded School and was a 1947 graduate of Boys Tech. From 1951 to 1953 he served during the Korean War, then returned to Milwaukee.

On July 23, 1955 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, he married Marie Adeline Kathrein, who survives.

He had been employed for three years by Milwaukee County and for 20 years as a machine operator for Sealcraft Mfg. They moved to Rib Lake in 1978 where he was employed for 15 years at Weather Shield, retiring in 1995.

He was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church where he participated in the choir, the Knights of Columbus Council No. 9608 of Rib Lake, and Lehman-Clendenning American Legion Post No. 274 of Rib Lake. He enjoyed singing, gardening, being outdoors and spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his wife, survivors include two sons, Paul (Katy) of Kewaskum and Gary (Denise) of Oregon; a daughter, Sarah (David) Dykstra of San Jose, Calif.; two brothers and three sisters-in-law, Michael (Carol) of Watertown, Ervin (Diane) of Franklin and Mary Krolnik of Mojave, Calif.; three sisters, Vicki (Bill) Allen of Wauwatosa, Lilly (Frank) Gorenc of Milwaukee and Willma (Steve) Zbinovec of Mukwonago; nine grandchildren, Jay Krolnik, Carl (Sheena) Krolnik, Chris Krolnik, Joyce Krolnik, Melody Krolnik, Ursa Dykstra, Karmen Dykstra, Max Dykstra and Julian Dykstra; one great-granddaughter, Trinity Krolnik; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Rudy in infancy, John and William; a sister, Angie (Pepe) Bachun; and a grandson, Jonathan Krolnik in infancy.
