Obit: Kondrasuk, Ruth (1917 - 2008)
Surnames: Billings, Jacob, Kondrasuk, Norton ----Source: The Star News (Medford, Taylor Co., WI), Thursday, November 27, 2008, Online Edition ----Kondrasuk, Ruth (Norton) (March 8, 1917 - November 15, 2008) "Mrs. Kondrasuk," as many called her, died in Portland, Ore., on November 15, 2008. She was born Ruth Annabelle Norton on March 8, 1917 in Merton, to the late Franklyn and Lucille (Billings) Norton. She married Frank M. Kondrasuk in 1941 and they had a son, Jack, in 1942. Ruth received a bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and taught high school business education for about 30 years in Holcombe, Spencer and mainly Gilman where she resided for 64 years before moving to Portland in 2006. She was one of the founders of the Gilman Lionesses. Ruth is survived by her son, Jack (Karen) Kondrasuk of Portland; and two stepgrandchildren, Ken and Ben Jacob and three stepgreat-grandchildren, Katie, Kylen and Powell, of Atlanta, Ga., and Bangkok, Thailand. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank in 1996; her parents; and three infant siblings. A funeral service will be held at St. Katherine Episcopal Church in Owen at 10 a.m. on November 29. Burial will follow at Meadowbrook Cemetery in Gilman. Respects can be paid at the Gilman Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. on November 28, and one hour prior to services on Saturday, Nov. 29 at the church. Financial remembrances can be donations to the "Ruth Kondrasuk College Scholarship Fund" at Gilman High School.
