Shirley A. Griesbach, 60, Medford, died on Sunday, April 17 at her home, surrounded by her family and under hospice care.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 30 at 11 a.m. at Hemer Funeral Home in Medford, with Pastor Bruce Jahnke officiating. Cremainal inurnment will take place at Dorchester Memorial Cemetery in Dorchester.


Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.


The former Shirley Fischer was born on July 21, 1950 in Eau Claire, to the late Herbert W. and Lenore A. (Fritsche) Fischer. She attended Brady Grade School and Colby and Owen-Withee area schools.


She married Allen Griesbach and they later divorced. They owned and operated a small dairy farm in Colby and she also worked at Edgar Basket Factory, then Weather Shield in Medford.
She enjoyed fishing in Canada, traveling to Florida, and going to the casino.


Survivors include her fiancé, James Nuernberger of Medford; a daughter, Tammy Griesbach of Colby; a son, Jeffrey of Colby; three sisters, Darlene (Rollie) Bostwick of Grand Rapids, Mich., Marjean Poehnelt of Englewood, Fla., and Bonnie Hamm of Coon Rapids, Minn.; a brother, Dennis (Florence) of Ringle; four grandchildren, Tiara (Omar) Bonilla of Abbotsford, Cassius Griesbach of Colby, and Colton and Autumn Werner of Whittlesey; and one great-granddaughter.


In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Tina M. Werner on February 28, 2010.


In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to her family to be designated at a later date.
