---- Ringer, Robert "Bob" Junior (August 28, 1930 - May 17, 2011)

Robert "Bob" Junior Ringer, 80, Sheldon, died on Tuesday, May 17 at his home with his family by his side.

In January 2011, he had been diagnosed with a non-cancerous bone marrow disease.

Bob was born on August 28, 1930 in New Auburn to Robert A. and Irma (Copper) Ringer.

Bob married Sylvia Hewitt in Bloomer on October 15, 1949.

They farmed with his grandparents in Greenwood and on their own in several other locations before purchasing a farm in Sheldon in the fall of 1956, where they still reside.

While farming, Bob also worked for 11 years for Madison Silo Company, then at Brown's Feed Store in Sheldon for five years before purchasing a cattle truck in the mid 1960s. Bob and Sylvia hauled cattle to local markets for over 41 years and Bob also hauled cattle to several western states. When they switched from dairy farming to beef, Bob purchased a flatbed trailer and also hauled everything from small buildings and lumber to machinery and logging equipment. He loved to be busy and enjoyed driving all over the country. Bob retired in 2009, much sooner than he would have liked.

Bob is survived by Sylvia, his wife of 61-1/2 years; sons, Larry (Diane) of Sheldon and Gene (Tammy) of New Auburn; daughter, Bonnie (Robin) of Baldwin; grandsons, Shannon, Casey and Corey; and great-grandsons, Aiden and Jayce; and granddaughter, Kaylee; sister-in-law, Margie of Ladysmith; and nieces, Lori (Tom) Applebee of Tony, Roberta, Julie, Monte and Jackie.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents; son, Rocke; granddaughters, Kristin and Jamie; and brother, Lyle.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, May 21 at Sheldon Church of Christ, with Rev. Jeremy Allard officiating.

The Nash-Jackan Funeral Home of Ladysmith assisted the family with arrangements.
