Marjorie A. Halopka, age 81, of Abbotsford, passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2011 at Memorial Health Center in Medford.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Tuesday, June 21 at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Milan. Father Charles Hiebl officiated. Burial was at St. Thomas Cemetery.

Marjorie was born on April 20, 1930 to Louis and Theresa (Rothamer) Sperl in the Town of Little Black.

She attended Holy Rosary Catholic School in Medford. Marjorie was joined in marriage to Eugene Halopka on September 22, 1948 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford. Together they farmed for 40 years in the Town of Holton. Upon retiring, Marjorie and Eugene moved to Abbotsford.

She enjoyed traveling, sewing, crafting, crocheting, playing cards and farming. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Marjorie is lovingly survived by her children, Gary (Sue) Halopka of Dorchester, Darla (Charles) Stuttgen of Milan, Daryl (Bonnie) Halopka of Dorchester, Gene (Nona) Halopka of Medford, Jim (Marlene) Halopka of Medford, Linda (Ed) Beyerl of Medford, Brian (Amy) Halopka of Dorchester, Todd Halopka of Dorchester, Kurt Halopka of Abbotsford, Pam (Brad) Wolf of Dorchester, Steve (Beverly) Halopka of Colby, and Terry (Colleen) Halopka of Milan.

She is further survived by 46 grandchildren; 59 great-grandchildren; her brother, Kenneth Sperl of Medford; her sisters, Donna (Ben) Seidel of Medford and Eleanor Sherfield of Medford; and her sisters-in-law, Mary Sperl of Medford, Shirley Kleist of Medford, Ann Gebauer of Medford and Marjean Halopka of Claremont, Fla.

Marjorie is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eugene; her grandsons, Ryan and Chad Stuttgen; daughter-in-law, Linda Halopka; and her brother, Robert Sperl.
