William Jennings Bryan, 85, Greensboro, N.C., died on Saturday, July 30 at Blumenthal Jewish Nursing Home in Greensboro. Funeral services will be held at a later date in Rockford, Ill., with interment in Medford.


Forbis and Dick Funeral Service of Greensboro assisted the family with arrangements.

GREENSBORO — Mr. William Jennings Bryan, 85 of Greensboro, NC passed away July 30, 2011 at Blumenthal Jewish Nursing Home in Greensboro.

Funeral Services will be held at a later date in Rockford, IL and interment will be in Medford, WI .

Mr. Bryan was born on July 1, 1926 in Withee, WI, to the late William Henry and Grace (Hilton) Bryan.

He is survived by his son William "Bill" (DeVanuia) Bryan Jr., daughter Mary (Dave) Bryan-Stewart both of Greensboro, NC, grandchildren Elizabeth & Michelle McCarty and Natalee Stewart. He is preceded in death by his wife Patricia (Nystrum) Bryan and a daughter Cathleen (Bryan) McCarty.

Mr. Bryan was a native of Medford, WI, but had lived in Deerfield Beach, FL for eight years before moving to Greensboro in 2009. He was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

He was also a retired sales & marketing director for the Barber-Coleman Company Corporation, a member of S.C.O.R.E. and a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II.

Forbis & Dick Funeral Service in Greensboro, NC is assisting the Bryan Family.
