Vernon S. Roberts, 89, Medford, died on Friday, Oct. 7 at Memorial Nursing and Rehab Center in Medford.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Oct. 11 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford, with Father Gerard Willger, Father Dennis Meulemans and Deacon Joe Stefancin officiating.

Burial was at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery in Medford, with graveside military rites performed by the Medford Military Honors Team. Pallbearers were his grandsons, Allen and Todd Emmerich, Chad Baka, Matt Husemann, Justin Mayer, and Scott, Clayton and Jeremy Roberts.


Hemer Funeral Service of Medford assisted the family with arrangements.

10:00 AM Tuesday, October 11 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medford

Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery, Medford where there will be graveside military rites performed by the Medford Military Honors Team

VISITATION AT:

Hemer Funeral Home, Medford from 4-8 PM on Monday, October 10 where there will be a 7:30 PM combination prayer/rosary service held that evening

May 24, 1922 at Milwaukee, WI

EDUCATION:

Milwaukee & Town of Holway elementary schools

MARRIAGE INFORMATION:

March 2, 1946 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medford to Rita Jaent. She preceded him in death April 19, 2008

PRINCIPAL EVENTS IN LIFE:

He was a US Navy veteran of WW II. After the service, he worked in the CCC Camps for a period of time. Then he farmed in the towns of Medford and Hammel for many years. While farming, he worked at Hurd Millwork, drove school bus and from 1967 until his retirement in 1987, he worked as a liaison between District Office and outlining schools for the Medford School District. They moved to Medford in 1993. He enjoyed woodworking, all sports, wintering in AZ, and playing with his grandchildren.

34 Grandchildren, 33 Great - Grandchildren and 1 Great - Great Grandchild

Donald (Connie) Roberts, Wesley (Marilyn) Roberts and Garon (Lois) Roberts

La Verne Borchardt, Doloris (Alvin) Sova and Virgiely Dax
