---- Griswold, Donna Jean (Mallak) (January 3, 1964 - October 11, 2011)

Donna Jean Griswold, 47, of Wausau, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2011.

She was born on January 3, 1964 in Wausau to Edward and Florence (Borman) Mallak. She married Steven Griswold and together they raised their children, Steven Jr. and Amy (Jacob) Brecheisen. Along with raising her family, Donna was an avid gardener and enjoyed taking care of her three acre garden.

Survivors include her husband and children; her father, Edward Mallak; (her mother, Florence, preceded her in death); her in-laws, Paul and Shelvie Griswold of Kingsport, Tenn.; granddaughters, Alexa and Kaleigh Brecheisen; sisters, Charloette (Dale) Doescher, Annette (Chris) Lauby, Gerry Siedler; a brother, Charles (Ruth) Mallak; and a half-brother, Noel (Carol) Prussman.

Services were held on Saturday, Oct. 15 at St. Stephens United Church of Christ in Merrill, with Pastor Missy Holdorf officiating. A dinner and celebration of life followed at the Town of Texas town hall.

Last night I said good-bye for now to the love of my life, my best friend and soul mate. Donna passed from my arms to the arms of Jesus after a courageous 14 month battle with cancer. Donna, I love you. It was an honor and privilege to take care of you. I know that you are not suffering anymore. I know we will be together again in heaven forever when the Lord calls me home. Donna, you will live on in our hearts and memories, I know that God gave me you. I loved you the first time I saw you. You were everything I hoped and dreamed of; the best friend, wife and mother anyone has ever been. I am thankful that God kept us together for 32 wonderful years and for the two wonderful children and grandchildren that God blessed us with. Jesus said in Matthew 13: 31-32, Here is another illustration Jesus used: "The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed planted in a field. It is the smallest of all seeds but it becomes the largest of garden plants; it grows into a tree and birds come and make nests in its branches. Just as the seed is the beginning of growth, so this life is the beginning but not the end. We continue living the moment our spirits are released from our bodies. - C.L. Allen

Please remember God is good all the time no matter what.
