Martha Manglos, age 77, of Jump River, passed away on Monday, Oct. 31, 2011 at the Gilman Care Center.

Martha was born on June 21, 1934 in Ladysmith, the daughter of the late Charles and Marie (Vacek) Kalous.

She grew up in the Jump River area, attending rural schools. On December 29, 1956, she was united in marriage to Orval Manglos at the Jump River Presbyterian Church. The couple resided in rural Jump River where they farmed and raised their family, later divorcing.

Martha was a member of the Jump River Presbyterian Church and Ladies Aide. She enjoyed knitting, embroidery, reading, gardening, driving around having coffee and visiting with friends, and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Martha is survived by her children, Lois (Joe) Liegl of Denmark, Kathleen (Joe) Hana of Medford, Bernadine (Rick) Gustafson of Dairyland, Brendon (Corie) Manglos of Barron, Wesley (Sandra) Manglos of Oak Grove, Minn., Orin (Trisha) Manglos of Longmont, Colo., and Wade (Wendy) Manglos of Sheldon; plus 21 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Lydia (Jake) Martin of Ladysmith.

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, James Liegl; sisters, Mary Kaiser, Ann Domin and Helen Keepers; and brothers, Jerry and Charles Kalous.

Services were held on Thursday, Nov. 3 at Christ Community Church in Jump River. Burial was in Mount Nebo Cemetery in Jump River.

Gilman Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
