Henry Allen Schilling, 88, Medford, died on Tuesday, Oct. 11 at Memorial Nursing Home and Rehab Center.

Funeral services were held on Monday, Oct. 17 at Medford United Methodist Church, with Dr. Michael Adedokun officiating. Interment with full military honors conducted by the Spirit American Legion Post No. 452, was at Hillcrest Cemetery in Spirit.

Pallbearers were Jason Schreiner, Juli Johnson, Heidi Geiger, Kyle Schilling, Aimee Beaumont and Justin Beaumont.


Dallmann-Kniewel Funeral Homes of Medford and Rib Lake assisted the family with arrangements.


Henry Schilling was born on March 27, 1923 in Prentice to the late Joseph and Agnes (Poluky) Schilling. He attended Prentice Graded School. He worked on the family farm and on the railroad, and served in the United States Army Air Force during World War II from 1943 to 1945.


On June 26, 1948 at Spirit United Methodist Church, he married Evelyn Edlund, who preceded him in death on August 6, 2007. He worked at Tomahawk Sand and Gravel for 13 years and at Prentice Hydraulics for seven years. He also owned and operated Schilling Farm in the Town of Spirit for 35 years.


Survivors include a son, Robert (Sandra) of Medford; two daughters, Marlene (Thomas) Schreiner of Medford and Loraine (Richard) Beaumont of Galesville; a sister, Dorothy Rosenlof of Brantwood; a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Schilling of Medford; six grandchildren, Jason (Michele) Schreiner, Juli (Larry) Johnson and Kyle Schilling, all of Medford, Heidi (Charlie) Geiger of Dorchester, Aimee Beaumont of Milwaukee, and Justin Beaumont of Galesville; three great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.


In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters.
