Dennis Jennings, age 58, of Jump River, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2011.

Dennis was born on January 20, 1953 in Ladysmith, the son of Robert and Audrey (Gifford) Jennings.

He grew up in Sheldon, attending and graduating from Flambeau High School. He was united in marriage to Jackie Ahlers on April 10, 1976 at the Church of Christ in Sheldon.

Dennis lived in Jump River, working as a carpenter around the area. Besides his great love for his grandchildren, he enjoyed hunting, ice fishing and spending time with friends and family. He is survived by his daughter, Melissa (Jeff) Weishaar of Arlington Heights, Ill.; grandchildren, McKenna Jennings and Aaron and Ryan Weishaar; siblings, Cheri (Rod) Dauer of Fargo, N.D., Nancy (Wayne) Rissman of Huron, S.D., Larry Jennings of Hayward, Betty (Dale) Prasnicki of Jump River, and half-sister, Susy (Dean) Peggar of Stanley; step-mother, Peggy Tinstman of Cornell; step-siblings, Bryce (Lynn) Bollum of Inver Grove Heights, Minn., Betty Jean (Robert) Stone of Sheldon, Donna (Dean) McLaughlin of Madison; plus many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael, in 2010, and previously his parents.

Services were held on Saturday, Sept. 17 at the Jump River Community Center, with Pastor Jeremy Allard officiating. Burial was at Mount Nebo Cemetery in Jump River.

Plombon Funeral Service of Gilman assisted the family.
