---- Querin, Evangeline (Baron) (February 13, 1926 - September 18, 2011)

Evangeline Querin, 85, Jackson, Miss., much loved mother and grandmother, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 18, 2011 in Jackson.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Sept. 21 at Hemer Funeral Home in Medford, with Deacon Joseph Stefancin officiating. Burial was at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery in Medford.

Pallbearers were Gary and Dan Kapfhamer, Eugene, Todd and Joseph Querin and Tom Roberts.

The former Evangeline Baron was born on February 13, 1926 in Medford to the late Andrew and Victoria Baron. She attended Wayside School in the Town of Hammel.

On January 3, 1947 at Crystal Falls, Mich., she married Lawrence L. Querin, who preceded her in death on January 4, 1989. In 1963 Lawrence and Evangeline moved to Jackson with their family. She was a loving wife, wonderful mother, homemaker and an amazing grandmother. Her pride and joy in her life were her nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Evangeline loved to dance, cook, work in her garden, sew and read romance novels. She also enjoyed doing charity work. Her most fulfilling charitable work was taking care of newborn foster babies for Catholic Charities. She loved these babies and took care of them as her own. She will be greatly missed by her family. We love her very much.

She was member of St. Richard's Catholic Church in Jackson.

Survivors include her children, Alan (Cynthia), Jeffrey (Jerrine), Leon (Linda) and Galen (Marcy) Querin, and Lori (Bill) Truelove, all of Jackson; a sister, Elizabeth Baron of Madison; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Mark Querin, in infancy; three grandchildren, Destry and Blake Querin and Alexandra Truelove; and brothers and sisters.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to Catholic Charities or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
