Walter M. Tlusty, 94, Medford, died on Tuesday, Sept. 6 at his home.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Sept. 9 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Whittlesey, with Father Gerard Willger and Deacon Joe Stefancin officiating.

Interment of his cremated remains will take place at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Cemetery in Whittlesey at a later date. Pallbearers are his grandsons, Adam and Eric Mauer, Michael, Robert and Jerry Mercier and Daniel Tlusty.


Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday, Sept. 8 from 4 p.m. until the time of the rosary service at 7 p.m., and on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.


Hemer Funeral Service of Medford assisted the family with arrangements.

MARRIAGE INFORMATION:

June 30, 1938 at OLPH Catholic Church, Whittlesey to Margaret “Marge” Brandner and they recently celebrated their 73rd wedding anniversary.

PRINCIPAL EVENTS IN LIFE:

Following his education, he taught elementary school at rural Taylor Co. schools from 1935-1957. They also farmed in the townships of Chelsea and Medford having moved to the township of Medford in 1948. He also worked for Livestock Management & Marketing of Francis Creek, WI, Hurd Millwork, Medford Co-op, worked on a fox farm in the town of Chelsea and for the Social Security Dept. for periods of time. He helped organize the WI Rural Housing Co-op. He enjoyed most of all his family, hunting, fishing, trapping, playing cards, baking, cooking, gardening and traveling.

OLPH Catholic Church, Whittlesey where he held various offices and taught CCD classes; Catholic Knights of Columbus; WI Rural Housing Co-op; Taylor Co. Retired Teachers; Taylor Co. Historical Society;

Margaret “Marge” Tlusty of the township of Medford

SURVIVING DAUGHTERS:

Judith (Richard) Mercier of Ashland

Mary (Ronald) Mauer of Delafield WI

SURVIVING SONS:

Robert Tlusty of Wauwatosa, WI

John (Annette) Tlusty of Westboro
