Dorothy M. Hrdina, 99, Medford, died on Tuesday, Dec. 20 at her home.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 24 at 11 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford, with Father Gerard Willger and Deacon Joe Stefancin officiating. Burial will be at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery in Medford.


Visitation will be held on Friday, Dec. 23 from 4 to 7 p.m., with a prayer service, at Hemer Funeral Home in Medford.

Dorothy Hrdina, age 99, Medford, WI, passed away December 20 at her residence in the town of Bern under the loving care of her family and Hope Hospice. Dorothy had been an associate of the Holy Cross Sisters since 1996.

Funeral service for Dorothy were Saturday, December 24 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medford, WI, with Father Gerard Willger and Deacon Joe Stefancin officiating. Burial in Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery, Medford.

Dorothy was born November 7, 1912 in the township of Easton, Marathon County, Wisconsin, to Thomas and Hilda (Schlei) Delonay. She was united in marriage on July 10, 1929 at Wausau, WI, to Raymond L. Hrdina. He preceded her in death November 4, 1983.

After her marriage she was a homemaker and farmed with her husband in the town of Bern until retirement in 1974. She also did bookkeeping for the Gad Cheese Factory for over 50 years. She was an avid gardener, and enjoyed quilting. She was a 4H leader and drove school bus for a period of time.

Dorothy was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medford; Sunny Hill Homemakers group from the Gad area.

She is survived by: Daughters-Marcella (Emmanuel) Cutrone of Suwanee, GA; Marlene Schneider of Oak Creek, WI; Dolores, a Sister of Mercy of the Holy Cross, Merrill, WI. Sons-Mark (Donna) Hrdina of Goodrich; Tom Hrdina, township of Bern. She is further survived by 13 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 12 great- great- grandchildren, and one great-great-great-granddaughter. Also surviving are sisters Beatrice Pittsley of Marshfield, WI, and Virginia Hommerding, Schofield, WI.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, Ronald Hrdina, grandchildren—David Showalter and Carole Webster; great-grandson, Jereme Sawyer. Brothers—Omar, Milton, David and Harold Delonay; Sisters—Violet Seefeldt & Clara Dallman.
