---- Drew, Marisa Alayna (Derzon) (1988? - January 12, 2012)

Marisa Alayna Drew (Derzon), age 31, died on January 12, 2012, in a tragic car accident.

Marisa was born in Minneapolis, Minn. She moved with her sister, Trista, and mother to Medford in 1988. Marisa graduated from Colby High School in 1999, but all other years she attended Medford Area Schools. Marisa spent two years attending UW-Eau Claire and then graduated from UW-Milwaukee in communications. Still seeking her true love of cosmetology, Marisa continued her education and graduated from Milwaukee's VICI Aveda Institute. All her dreams came true in 2011 when she started working for Dave Simon at the Academy Waukesha Paul Mitchell Partner School as an admissions and placement counselor and lived in her 'castle' apartment in Waukesha.

Marisa is survived by her mother and father, Dalyn and Alan Derzon; 'big' sister, Trista (Luke) Shattuck; siblings, Tiyah, Sydahna, Bryce, Tatyanna, Robyn, Dayna, Oleeyah, Sopheyah, Aleksey, Poppy Fay and Anastazia Derzon; adoring nieces and nephews, Courtland, Ada, Daylia and soon-to-arrive in March, Marisa's namesake, Marius Ronen Shattuck; adopted father, Robert Drew; and aunties, Denell (Mark) Herried, Glenna (David) Tuil, Janean (Roland) Hamann; uncle, Mark Derzon; cousins, Holly Hopewell, Reed (Winona) Grey and Kaitlen (Joshua) Stenzel; step-grandmother, Dorothy Kolstad; plus too many loving friends and extended family members to count.

She is preceded in death by her forever beloved grandparents, Dale and Elaine Kolstad, Brooklyn Center, Minn.

A 1 p.m. service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 21 at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, 12650 Johnny Cake Ridge Rd., Apple Valley, Minn. There will be a reception following the ceremony.

In lieu of flowers, a scholarship foundation will be established in Marisa's name to yearly recognize an exemplary Paul Mitchell Partner School's professional graduate. Marisa LOVED her job, staff, future professionals and passionately believed in the school's teaching philosophy.
Please consider sending your memorial directly to Dave Simon, Dean, The Academy Waukesha, Paul Mitchell Partner School, 2000 Silvernail Road, Pewaukee, Wis. 53072.

May Marisa's memory ALWAYS be for a blessing...which will keep giving and giving just as Marisa lived her daily life.

Note: Birth information was not published with obituary.
