Schrader, Mary (20 Nov. 1882 – 18 Mar. 1961)

Mrs. Fred Schrader, 78, of 306 W. Arnold St., died of a stroke at 9:20 o’clock this morning at St. Joseph’s Hospital where she had been a patient for the past four weeks.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tues. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church. The Rev. G. M. Krueger will officiate and burial will be made in Hillside cemetery.

Friends may call at the Hansen Funeral Home from Sun.evening to noon Tues. when the body will be taken to the church.

The former Mary Mellenthin was born in Spencer Nov. 20, 1882. She received her education in Spencer and lived there until her marriage to Fred Schrader on Nov. 20, 1900. The couple resided in Marshfield until 1931 when they moved to a farm near Arpin. Her husband died in April of 1948. Mrs. Schrader moved back to Marshfield ten years ago.

Survivors include two sons, Oscar, Racine, and James, Milwaukee; three sisters, Mrs. Simon (Lena) Pflum and Mrs. Ed (Alma) Glaman, Marshfield, and Mrs. Adolph (Ida) Stelzl, Spencer; a brother, Emil Mellenthin, Spencer; and three grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a sister, Anna.

Funeral services were conducted Tues. afternoon at the Immanuel Lutheran church for Mrs. Fred Schrader, 78, of 306 W, Arnold St., who died Sat. at St. Joseph's Hospital. The Rev. G. M. Krueger officiated and burial was made in Hillside cemetery.

Pallbearers were Walter Stapel, Donald Glaman, Arnold Stelzl, Garrett (Gerhard) Klein, Eldor Mellenthin and Henry Kroll, Jr.

Mrs. Arnold Korth, Mrs. George Pingel and Mrs. Virgil Matinson, accompanied by George Pingel at the organ, sang "Las Mich Gehen" and "Abide With Me".

Attending the services from out of town were Mr. and Mrs James Schrader, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Schrader, Racine; Mrs. Howard Hawse, Colby; and many relatives and friends from Spencer, Colby, Arpin and Granton.
