Feit, Kenneth V. (13 Apr. 1917 – 18 Oct. 2008)

Kenneth V. Feit Sr. of Marshfield died Sat. Oct. 18, 2008, at the Bethel Center in Arpin under the care of Ministry Home Care Hospice.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Wed., Oct. 22, 2008, at St. John's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Charles D. Stoetzel officiating. Suzanne Golden will be the organist along with St. John's Funeral Choir. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery with grandchildren serving as the pallbearers. Military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post 54 of Marshfield at the cemetery.

Visitations will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tues. at Rembs' Funeral Home (300 S. Oak Ave. - Marshfield, WI) and again Wed. at the church from 9:30 a.m. until time of the services. There will be a parish prayer service at 4 p.m. Tues. at the funeral home.

Ken was born April 13, 1917, in Milladore to James and Esther (Valiska) Feit. He attended Auburndale grade school.

He was united in marriage to Adeline L. Mancl on Aug. 19, 1941, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Milladore. She died May 20, 2002.

He served in the United States Army during World War II. Then after his honorable discharge, he returned to Milladore, moved to Milwaukee for a few years then to Marshfield where he served as a policeman for the Marshfield Police Department. From 1961 until 1968, he served as Chief of Police for the Abbotsford Colby Police Department. He retired from Weyerhaeuser Company after ten years. During his retirement, he enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening.

He is survived by his children, Shirley (Tom) Stahl of Huntington, Ind., David (Kathleen) Feit of Marshfield, Kenneth Feit Jr. of Mosinee, Judith (Michael) Verch of Marshfield and Timothy (Jennifer) Feit of Wausau; 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by one brother, Quirin (Jeannie) Feit of Linden, Ind.; three sisters, Stella Giese, Delphine Kuhl and Viola Edgeworth, all of Milwaukee.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Adeline; son, James; and a brother, Leonard Feit.
