Hamel, Arthur D. (18 Jan. 1886 – 23 Apr. 1963)

VESPER – Arthur D. Hamel, 77, died at his home here at 3:10 a.m. today. He had been in poor health for nine years.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Fri. at St. James Catholic Church, the Rev. Bernard Quint officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Mr. Hamel was born Jan. 18, 1886, in the town of Hansen, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hamel.

He was a lifelong resident of Central Wisconsin and had farmed until his retirement nine years ago.

He married Emma Behselich Nov. 22, 1915 at Pittsville. She survives.

Other survivors are a son, Norbert, Vesper; three daughters, Mrs. LaVerne Fenske and Mrs. Donald Leu, Wisconsin Rapids; and Miss Loretta Hamel, Durand; two sisters, Mrs. Mattie Juneau, Park Falls, and Mrs. Mary Bean, Vesper, and 10 grandchildren.

Friends may pay their respects at the Ritchay Funeral Home from 7 p.m. Wed. until time of services. The Holy Name Society will conduct a rosary service at 8:15 p.m. Thur..
