PITTSVILLE – Services were conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at the Veedum Moravian Church for Claire J. Gorst, 80, of route 2, Pittsville, who was found dead of natural causes Tuesday at his home.

Officiating was the Rev. Bharat Surender, pastor, and burial was made in the Mound cemetery at Pittsville. Graveside military rites were conducted by the Palmer-Ritchie American Legion Post of Pittsville. The flag was presented by Harry Johnson, vice commander, and taps were sounded by Jerry Schutz.

Pallbearers were Andrew Peterson, Frank Sojka Jr., Leonard Hoffman, Harold Stillman, Joe Urban Sr., and Ed Macha.

Miss Mary Garrells, soloist, was accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Homer Ewer.
