Chronquist, Harry W. Dr. (1899 – 1993)

 

Services for Dr. Harry W. Chronquist, 94, of 813 Columbus Ave., who died at 2:30 p.m. Tues. at his home, will be at 11 a.m. Fri. at Hansen Funeral Chapel.

 

The Rev. Robert J. Jacobs of the First Presbyterian Church will officiate. Duane Helgerson will be the soloist, and Bruce Jensema will be the organist.

 

Visitation will be after 10 a.m. Fri. at the funeral chapel.

 

He was born Aug. 5, 1899, in Segola, Mich. to Frank and Eva Chronquist. He moved to Poskin in Barron County with his family at the age of 1. He received his elementary and secondary education in Barron County and graduated from Barron High School in 1917. He then attended Northwestern University and received his degree in dentistry from Loyola Dental School in Chicago in 1927.


He married Gladys Nockleby June 2, 1928, in Minneapolis. He and his wife celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary June 1, 1993.


After his marriage, he and his wife moved to Evanston, Ill., where he established his practice. He operated his dental office there until retiring in 1973. After retirement, he and his wife moved to Marshfield, where he continued to live until the time of his death.


He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Wood County Historical Society, the Masonic Lodge of Wilmette, Ill., and the Shrine and Consistory. He was also a member of Northwestern Game Farm of Woodstock, Ill.; and both the Chicago and Illinois Dental Society, was past president of the North Shore Dental Society of Evanston and a life member of the Odontographic Society of Chicago.


He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Carl W. (Joan) Moyer of Marshfield; one brother, Dr. C. G. Chronquist of Marshfield; and one sister, Mrs. Minnie Hutt of Chili.


He was predeceased by his parents and five sisters, Ann and Victoria Chronquist, Edna Williams, Esther Folstad and Rose Soderberg.


Memorials may be designated to the First Presbyterian Church or the Marshfield Medical Foundation for research.
