Mengel, Forest F. (1889? – 19 Feb. 1966)

 

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Forest F. Mengel, 77, Wisconsin Rapids, died at 8 p.m. Sat. at Fort Lauderdale, Fla., where he had been hospitalized for two weeks.

 

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wed. at the Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church here.
Mr. Mengel was born Nov. 26, 1888, at Oconomowoc, and came to Wisconsin Rapids in 1915 to serve as district engineer for the State Highway Commission. He resigned in 1927 to form his own highway construction company.
His first wife, Kathryn, died July 17, 1958, and he married Margaret Pomainville-Lathrope in 1963 at Richmand, Va.
She survives. Others include her son, William, and two daughters, Mrs. Gary Getzin and Mrs. Don Neitzel, all of Wisconsin Rapids.


Friends may call at the Ritchay Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Tuesday and there will be rosaries at 6:30 and 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.


A memorial fund has been established at the Riverside Hospital in Wisconsin Rapids.
