(1 Mar. 1924 – 27 Jan. 2001) NEKOOSA – Robert R. Tlachac, 76, of Lake Camelot, Adams County, town of Rome, died Sat. Jan. 27, 2001, at Edgewater Haven Nursing Home, Port Edwards, of Alzheimer's disease. A funeral Mass will be at 11:30 a.m. Wed. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Nekoosa. The Rev. John Swing will officiate. Music will be provided by Sacred Heart Choir. Entombment will be in Forest Hill Mausoleum, Wisconsin Rapids. Robert was born on March 1, 1924, in Kewaunee, to William and Adelle (DeVillers) Tlachac. He married Lolly Mueller on June 25, 1947, in Luxemburg. Robert worked as a cheese maker with his father in the East Krok Cheese Factory. In 1959 he started working with the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture in Dodge County. Two years later he was promoted to a marketing inspector for the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture Trade and Consumer Protection Food Division until his retirement in 1987. He moved from Marshfield to Lake Camelot in the town of Rome in December 1988. Robert and his wife loved to travel. They spent nine winters in Texas and one in Florida. His traveling had to stop due to his illness. Survivors include his wife, Lolly; one son, Ronald (Karen) Tlachac, Wisconsin Rapids; one daughter, Susan (Jack) Peterson, Ojibwa; one grandson, Eric (Kristi) Tlachac, Milwaukee; one granddaughter, Amy Tlachac, Boulder, Colo.; one great-granddaughter, Erica, Neillsville; one brother, Clifford (Irene) Tlachac, Whitewater; and one brother-in-law, Clarence Cherveny, Kewaunee. He also is survived by nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, and sister (Ethel) Cherveny. Friends may call at Ritchay Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids from 4-8 p.m. Tues. and Wed. at the funeral home from 10-11 a.m. There will be a parish rosary at 7:30 p.m. Tues. at the funeral home.
